    Paul McDonald Smith OAM, FVAS, FRSA

    Professional, full-time artist, painter, tutor, since 1978.

    Studies: Fine Art RMIT and private studies in tonal and academic painting 1973-79. Greatly influenced by mentor Sir William Dargie.

    Judged many art awards thought 5 states of Australia since 1982 including Camberwell Rotary 2002 as Chief judge, 2001 as judging panel member, and 1990 as Camberwell Travel Scholarship Judge.

    Past Chairman, A.M.E. Bale Scholarship judging and Advisory Panel, 2003 -2014.

    Exhibited since 1974. 6 solo exhibitions many group and invitation exhibitions

    Victorian Artists Society exhibitions since 1976.

    Twenty Melbourne Painters Society exhibitions since 1998.

    Past President, Victorian Artists Society. 1998-2003.

    Past President, Twenty Melbourne Painters Society 2003 -2013. Vice President TMPS 2018

    Over 100 awards including 1986 Camberwell Travel Scholarship, Victorian Artists Society Artist of the Year Award 2001, Norman Kay Medal 1998 and 1999, many others.

    Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for Service to Visual Arts as a Painter and Lecturer 2005.

    Fellow and Life Member Victorian Artists Society

    Fellow Royal Society of Arts, London.
