  • Biography

Paris is an abstract artist who loves using geometric shapes, colour and defined lines to explore themes of identity, self-expression and societal norms. Paris' current art style would be best described as cubism meets pop-art. Her current art-style started when she was 18-years old, when she exhibited in the Ian Potter Centre during Top Arts 2014. She was inspired heavily by the likes of John Brack, Jeffrey Smart, Frida Kahlo and cubist artists such as Lyubov Popova during this time. Paris is a colour-enthusiast, and loves to take risks with how colour can be used. Primarily, Paris uses highly pigmented synthetic polymer paints to achieve these bright colours on the canvas. Paris creates all of her canvases by hand, from the timber frames to laying down canvas and priming it. Her larger works are designed to stand-out and 'pop!' as soon as one gazes upon them, with hidden meanings and feelings that tend to come to the surface the longer you look at them. Paris always hopes that viewers of her artworks find solace, understanding and peace gazing upon her artworks.
