I completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at Newcastle University NSW and a Diploma in Education. I spent eight years in the United Kingdom where I continued to teach and create art. While planning my return to Australia, Melbourne sounded like an exciting city to move providing me with the opportunities and vibrant living I love. Nine years on I have embraced the coffee, culture, food, events and landscapes that surround me. Still life and landscape paintings are my preferred subject matter. I enjoy painting with acrylics, oils, and filling sketchbooks with daily observations or from photographs taken from a family adventure.
Expressive line, vivid colours and natural patterns inspire my daily process of making marks. I enjoy documenting walks and family adventures using my favourite art tools; a camera, mix of pencils, acrylic, gouache and a sketchbook. I have created a body of work that range from small paintings on paper, to larger impressions on canvas. I am curious to explore the colour changes created during the day, lines left, and marks created. The landscape has been a source of inspiration for many years.
