  • Biography

    Maureen lives in Kilmore. She commenced oil painting in 1987 but did not enjoy the medium. She had lessons with Aus. Herman Pekel and Giselle Bolitin Maynard. Mainly self taught in the wet on wet style which she finds exciting and a challenge. She has had 6 solo exhibitions - Eltham Library, Fire Station Ivanhoe, Volumns Eltham, Rivers Yarrambat, Heathcote Winery and Willira Gallery Kilmore. Maureen has won many awards since 1993 including a painting aquired by Bendigo Rotary, Heathcote Art Society and a painting chosen for the Victorian Wine Festival award 2018. Maureen is also self taught in portraiture using pastel. She loves a challenge and paints figures, flowers from life, seascapes, landscapes, street scenes and Australian Native birds. She has taught children and adults at Diamond Valley Art Society and currently has classes at home. She has held workshops at Echuca, Plenty Valley Arts, Heathcote Art Society, Seymour Art Society, Diamond Valley Art Society, Yarrawonga Art Group and Kilmore Art Society.
