Mark Bagally is an artist living in Torquay, Victoria. Painting in both oil and watercolour, Mark's real passion is painting en plein air and regularly travels around the state in pursuit of that passion. His work has been described as contemporary impressionism.
His particular theme, at the moment, is seascape/landscapes in oil for which he is gaining some notoriety and acclaim. His colourful works instil a sense of calm in the audience, particularly with his larger paintings. He has recently been experimenting in watercolour and graphite drawing and also venturing into portraiture in oil. In 2019 he won a National Contemporary Art Award for his first self-portrait in oil.
He sits on several art related committees including Surfcoast Arts Inc and Surfcoast Arts Trail Committee run by the local shire.
Mark’s commissioned works have included old farm houses; residential houses and particular coastal and rural scenes. He has attended many workshops and recently completed a Certificate IV in Visual Arts.
