What happens when an adventurer becomes an artist?
The digital camera may capture the Australian landscape in granular detail but the impression is almost never retained. In his first series of paintings, Mario painted from the bird's eye view, as he witnessed the land from just below the clouds in a Cessna 172, hopping from town to town across the outback. Now in his second series of paintings, the destinations are revisited at ground level, through the dizzying lens of memories, dreams and imagination.
