  • Biography

Marilyn McIlvenna is a self-taught coastal and rural artist based in Melbourne. She has studied in many ways throughout her career, most recently under the tutelage of Richard Claremont. Marilyn hails from a long line of accomplished artists – her Grandfather Charles H. Crampton an artist and illustrator of great note through the mid-century and her brother and nephews also have these hereditary talents

Marilyn’s love of the impressionist style is shown in her vibrant coastal and country scenes. Although she has not painted canvases for quite some time, she is once again drawn to this larger form. Over the past 10 years her art has been developed through the painting of jewellery, her pieces and her new works can be viewed on her Instagram account @thelittlejoysdiary
