Margaret Krajnc

Biography

Margaret began her artistic career as a graphic designer, then specialised as an illustrator. Over the past 27 years Margaret has created many editorial illustrations for a variety of magazines such as Bluewater, within Australia and Seattle. She has also worked for a number of book publishers illustrating children's books. Her latest book is titled My Neighbour is a Fairy. Margaret’s work is colourful and whimsical. Her work often tells stories with a quirky sense of humour through detailed illustration, ranging from acrylic, gouache, graphite, linocut and digital media.

Over the past 4 years Margaret has become fascinated by light and shadow cast on trees at different times of the day. Her current work, acrylic on wood panel, explores light, colour and texture to create depth and form within the different layers of a treescape. Her paintings capture trees in moments of enjoyment, of places explored on the land and water in the summer sun.
