    Julian Di Stefano

    Julian Di Stefano is a visual artist, with an art teaching background. The visual diversity of creation is the source for his art; the exploration of the human image is particularly significant. Questions of identity and the human condition are an ongoing concern.

    His work delights in the visual, the wonder of the appearance of things, the beauty and the transience of contemporary life. All are reflected in his body of work. He draws also on the history of art and its rich repository of imagery. His work is like an anthology, which documents significant experiences in his life.

    Di Stefano creates works in multiple media. His works are crafted in oils, water-colour, drawing media and digital photography. His body of work is stylistically eclectic and predominantly figurative. Portraiture is of particular interest. Di Stefano has a desire and compulsion to make images; this inner necessity for creating and crafting art is a gift that drives his art.

    Ultimately all bona fide art strives toward articulating a worldview, which attempts to make a contribution to culture, and life, through the aesthetic sphere. Di Stefano’s art celebrates the mystery of life and points to a redemptive future.
