Josefine Hennel was born in Germany and came to Australia in 1964. She travelled extensively in Australia and abroad and settled with her husband and 3 children in Brighton, Victoria, where she still lives.
She studied tonal painting in the Blackie Realist Art School, Hampton, and in the Victorian Artists Society under Maxwell Wilks, Janet Hayes, Brian Armstrong , Shirley Bourne as well as Lee Machelak.
She had several art shows in Germany , Melbourne and Adelaide. She is a member of the Pastel Society ofVictoria and AGRA (Australian Guild of Realist Artists)
Her work has been published in the InternationalArtist magazine and the Australian ArtistMagazine.
