Joe La Pira is a Portrait and figurative artist, based in Phillip Island.
His interpretation of the portrait and figure has evolved through a deep study of the human condition.

Emotions are an important part of the human experience. How we express those feelings deepens our self-awareness and understanding.

By combining realism, symbolism, and abstraction, he strives to capture that moment in time where most of us have felt vulnerable, experienced sadness, a sense of peace; or just plain whimsical.

His unusual paint application technique gives rise to creative visual textures, which delicately intertwine into the human form and expression.
His paintings are delicately crafted and convey a sense of beauty and design.

Joe’s aim is that each piece finds its new owner by stimulating a thoughtful and meaningful connection, relating to their life experience and aesthetics.
