Jing Lin

  • Biography

Jing was born in China in 1976 and emigrated to Australia in 2006. The beauty of nature, in all its forms, inspired Jing into drawing at a very young age.

Jing’s background has been diverse, from airport management when living in China to finance and accounting in Australia and now with Officeworks in project management.

Jing with her husband is now raising her daughter who has also a love of drawing and art.

In recent years, Jing’s found time in her busy life to reignite her love for art and she enrolled in art classes and learned how to transition her skills from drawing into paint where her love of pastel paint developed. With the support and encouragement of her arts class Jing has developed her skills in the use of pastel as a medium and was proud to take out Best in Show for a pastel portrait entitled ‘A Stretch of Colour’ at the Glen Eira Cheltenham Art Group “Perspectives” 2021.

Jing enjoys painting a variety of subject matters and looks to find images that transfix the viewer and immerse them in thought. Jing finds solace in her art which takes her away from the busy routines of life where she can immerse herself and appreciate the beauty of life in all its forms.

Jing is on a journey to learn and hone her skills and grow as an artist.
