Biography

I am basically an Impressionist painter and I try to convey my feeling for the subject simply and directly. I have no desire to analyse nature, to dissect it. I like the related totality and accept it as a challenge in an unquestioning way. To try and achieve my impression or feeling I endevour to look at the subject like I were viewing it for the first time, with no preconceived thoughts as what the components should look like. I try to view the total scene or subject with a mind open to the vibrations I hope to receive from it ; and it is this spontaneous impression that impels me to paint - be it in form, color, composition or tone. That is what determines my whole approach emotionally and technically.
