Ian Harker

Biography

I was born in Orange NSW 1952. Having had a keen interest in oil painting since my early 20s I began painting at the age of 27. My passion for the Australian landscape has always been my inspiration. Having grown up in the region supporting such greats as Greg Turner, Doug Sealy, John Wilson etc. They were a huge influence in my style of work. I have had no formal training rather relying on reading & studying every book & painting could. Moved to Vic 1985 & fell in live with the beautiful landscape it has to offer weather it be the rugged mountains, rolling hills or her gorgeous coastal region, my passion is to recreate in my own way. I have had success at
art shows such as:- Bendigo, Art beyond the divide (Seymour), Mooney valley, Hobsons bay & many other regional shows over the years & hope to for many more.
