Echo Cai is a multidisciplinary artist based in Melbourne.
Graduated from the prestigious Peking University (1988) before migrating to Australia in 1989, Cai’s work encompasses a wide range of creative activities and forms of expression including painting, writing, video, and curation.
As a visual artist and writer, her practice enquires about the intersection between art and language.
Echo Cai was a finalist in the 42nd Alice Prize (2022), Bayside Acquisitive Art Prize (2022), Wyndham Art Prize (2018), a semi-finalist in the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize (2022), etc.
Cai’s work has been widely shown in Australia and is held in private and public collections across Australia and China.
