  • Biography

    Brain Nash was born in Melbourne, he has been painting professionally since the early 1970's. His wide ranging subjects include gracious old Australian buildings, the flinders ranges, Mountain cattlemen of the high country, romantic gardens, seascapes, landscapes and well known icons of the Hepburn Shire, Daylesford in particular. Since moving to Daylesford in 2000 Brian has found much inspiration in many subjects of the region including The Boathouse, Lake Daylesford, Jubilee Lake and the many buildings of note, not to forget the beautiful landscapes filled with that very special light which he captures with feeling and conviction.

    Brian was a foundation member of the Australian Guild of Realist Artists and taught privately for 10 yrs. Brian works in oil, acrylic and pastel. On painting trips Brian prefers to sketch and photograph his subjects, finishing his works in his studio.

    The subjects are created with strength and feeling, executed with a brilliant palette of colour. Brian has had over 50 solo exhibitions in his career and had had many awards to his name, with many Paintings in private collections in Europe, the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Asia, Japan and Australia.
