Barbara Glavota

Biography

My name is Barbara Glavota. I’m an acrylic and pencil artist living in Melbourne, Australia. I am self-taught. My main medium was pencil up until a year ago when l decided to be brave and branch out in paints. I have also upcycled and sold furniture for a few years in my spare time. I’m absolutely loving my new creative journey and haven’t looked back. I am now part of a painting class in the Dandenong and I’m learning so many wonderful techniques. I have a landscaping background and l’m constantly inspired by my garden and greenhouse which my art room overlooks. I also have a myriad of houseplants and interieur design books and magazines which l often refer too. I was born in France to a French mother and Croatian father, both creative in their own way who have inspired me and my love of travel. Beautiful buildings, gorgeous rooms and colourful landscapes influence my work. I dipped my toe recently in the Art world, entering the Apollo Bay Art Show with an interior and plant inspired artwork and was thrilled when I sold my first painting.
