Ashot Karapetian

Biography

I was born in Yerevan, Armenia in 1954, where I started my artistic career at an early age. I then graduated from the Yerevan Arts Institute in 1977 where I continued working as a lecturer and laboratory chief until my arrival to Australia in 1992. I have been a member of the Armenian Artists Association since 1979. My work is displayed at exhibitions in Armenia and countries of the ex-Soviet Union where I’ve been awarded with a number of Arts prizes. In Australia, I have actively continued my artwork and participated in numerous arts exhibitions at various locations.

My paintings are reagarded to be of high interest among Australian Art fans. Most of my artwork is based around contemporary, natural and abstract themes using medium such as oil and acrylic.
