Anastasia Kostokanellis is a contemporary Melbourne born artist of Greek origins. Anastasia successfully completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree at Melbourne University, studying English, Modern and Ancient Greek and Art History. She has had a notable 35 year career in the Department of Defence, primarily in the area of Logistics.
Anastasia loved to draw and paint and continued to explore her artistic passion whilst bringing up her family. She donated several art works to charity organisations for fund raising purposes.
In 2022 Anastasia faced a significant health battle. A positive outcome of this journey has been a turn to her art on a full time basis.
Anastasia completed several commission pieces.
She held several Studio Solo Exhibitions and a Solo exhibition in March 2024 at Oak Hill Gallery Mornington, Victoria. This resulted in the sale of several of her works and subsequent commissions.
Anastasia works with both oil and acrylic. She explores a diverse range artistic styles and themes including semi abstract seascapes, landscapes, florals and large bold stormy seas and skies.
Her artistic influences include Turner, Monet and Van Gogh. She has travelled extensively to see and study the original works of these artists.
She seeks to express her love of color and texture through her works.
