I have drawn and painted since I was young but chose to study law instead of art, a decision I often questioned over the years. Retirement gave me the opportunity to take 'the path not travelled' and I enrolled in an art course. Covid came along shortly after I had started painting again and the local park filled with couples, lone figures with dogs and parents with children, providing me with a rich amount of subject matter. The resulting paintings made up my contribution to a group exhibition at the Hawthorn Town Hall in 2021. I continue to find inspiration from social observation, nature and more recently, the built environment which is rapidly changing. I am a member of Hawthorn Artists Society and participated in the Society's recent exhibition.
