  • Biography

I have always wanted to draw and paint as a child. And I always did. But then life took over, especially through medical school and all the hard hours that followed in the name of being a ‘junior doctor’. Although I did paint then, I was never able to dedicate
myself enough to have evolved further as an artist.
After settling down as a GP and finishing numerous other Fellowships and exams, I met a patient of mine, also an artist, who encouraged and pushed me enough to snap out of my-virtual-lack-of-time phase, put some hard work in and evolve as an artist!
I would have certainly been unable to do this had I not had an amazing and supportive wife and a fabulous daughter, both of whom keep me going!
After playing with different media, I found myself falling in love with watercolours after doing some workshops with the fabulous Sue Lederhose (Mundubbera). Subsequently, I got to learn from the amazing Julie Goldspink (Melbourne), Charles Sluga (Yackandandah), Julian Bruere (Melbourne) and (the) Alvaro Castagnet who helped me propel my skills to develop further.
